There are a few perfect food combinations and bacon, lettuce and tomato is one of them. Here is Maggie with her take on it…
I found this recipe on RecipeLion.com. I was looking for something quick to take to a party, and this one sounded good. Come on. Has BLT ever sounded bad? Just 5 ingredients!
The hardest part is cooking the bacon. I suppose you could cut some prep time further if you used pre-cooked bacon. In fact, it might be better as I find this is less greasy than frying it up raw. Hmm. I will do that next time!
This was easy to whip up. So, I got to the party late, and everyone had already eaten, so most of it came home with me. However, this made Husband and son #1 very, very happy. I apologize for the bad photos- I already told you I was late, right? Whew!
It is just like eating wee BLT fingertip sandwich! Once those summer tomatoes come in, get busy!!
BLT Dip
What you need:
- 1 lb bacon
- 2 medium tomatoes
- 1 cup lettuce
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup sour cream
What you do:
Cut bacon into 1” pieces. Fry until crisp. Drain on paper towels and let cool to room temperature.
Cut lettuce into small pieces.
Cut tomatoes in half, scoop out seeds with a spoon and chop into small pieces.
Mix the mayonnaise and sour cream in a medium bowl. Gently fold bacon, lettuce and tomatoes into the sour cream mixture.
Forget the crackers, just serve with more bacon.

Hi Maggie! My niece makes this dip – but without the lettuce. I like the idea of adding the lettuce! And I sooo agree – this dip is delicious and quick to make. Not to mention how much everyone loves it and asks for you to bring it again!! (I ask my niece to bring it all the time.)
